Tell 'Em Why You Mad

I used to tease people alot about being militant but since I've been in the corporate space...let's just say things happen. I wrote this in '06 after a particular incident that rubbed me the wrong way but this piece of me will never get old.

I hate the moniker, but keep fuckin wit me/ They keep looking and I'ma give 'em what they wanna see/ It makes you wonder, were freedom papers green? You let me make a lil paper, but I caught on to the scheme/ I achieved the dream but equality has yet to be seen/ Steamin', livid am I, we go through some Bull.Shit for a piece of American Pie and Why lie?/You see it/ my suit is my rags and my keyboard is my hoe, Yessa, Massa sah , you want for me to work some mo?/ Yet I have to play the game, a spy, just call me Double-O 5, License to Lie/ Smile in your face, I know how this works, I work twice as hard for the average perks/ So I bust my ass three times what's needed, b/c I WILL be standing up top, and don't worry, I'll shout down to let you know I succeeded/ It's a mind game, a rousing match of chess, and you'll never get my king, cus it's tatted on my chest/ I'm in control, so being submissive is the ticket, I'm not doing it for you, I'm trying to complete my mission/ Deep down inside, as educated as I am, I have to admit, that I can be that angry black man.
